Sub Branch History

Kawana Waters RSL Sub Branch operates out of Kawana Waters Surf Lifesaving and Supporters Club. It is an active RSL Sub Branch of some 120 members and a strong Women’s Auxiliary.

All members are made social members of the Kawana Waters Surf Lifesaving and Supporters Club yearly free of charge, which enables them to make use of the excellent facilities of the supporters club.

Within the club is a corner dedicated to the Sub Branch and contains displays of Military items, nearby are photographs of former Sub Branch Presidents.

Close to the Kawana Waters Surf Lifesaving and Supporters Club is the Sub Branch War Memorial and a Memorial wall which contains the names of members who have passed on.

The Sub Branch has a very strong Committee and one Wellness Officer and one trainee Advocate.

Anzac Day is celebrated with a Dawn Service and a later march and general service at 11AM every year as is Remembrance Day.

Both these Activities are preceeded by a week of the selling of Memorabilia and Poppies by volunteer members at Kawana Shoppingworld.

Local Schools ANZAC and Remembrance Day services are always attended by selected Sub Branch members.

The Sub Branch works hard throughout the year to raise monies to assist in the welfare of older members and donate yearly to the local Army, Navy, Air Force Cadet Units, Girlguides, Scouts, Schools, Legacy, Salvation Army and other worthy local organisations.

The Sub Branch has an office attached to the Kawana Waters Surf Lifesaving and Supporters Club (currently not manned on a full time basis).
